Privacy Policy

SpendingLens processes your bank statements on your device. The app does not upload your PDFs or transaction data to the developer or third-party analysis services. It contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.

Data on your device

Apple PDFKit extracts statement text and Apple Vision performs on-device OCR when needed. Transactions, descriptions, amounts, dates, account labels, categories, merchant rules, and import history are stored locally. The app does not copy original PDFs into its database.

Exports and iCloud

When you export a JSON backup or share a CSV, the exported file contains financial data. You choose its destination and recipients. Choosing iCloud Drive stores the file with Apple under your iCloud settings. Backups do not contain original PDFs. Device backups may also include app data according to your device settings. SpendingLens does not automatically sync its database between devices.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you delete it or replace it through backup import. Settings → Delete All Data removes local transactions, merchant rules, and import history. Original PDFs, exported files, and device backups must be managed separately in Files or your device and iCloud settings.

Support and privacy questions

If you email support, the developer receives the email address and information you choose to send and uses it to respond to your request. Do not send bank statements, account numbers, or unredacted financial information. You may request deletion of support correspondence by email; information may be retained when needed to resolve the request or meet legal obligations.
